Inside the style

Learn the foundation. Then make it yours.

Afro-Cuban dance is a conversation between drums and body. The work is grounded, rhythmic, and full of contrast: isolated movement over a deep, settled centre.

Sessions introduce the musical context as well as the movement, so the steps have somewhere to live. Expect to use your whole body — shoulders, ribcage, hips, and feet — and to leave with a deeper sense of rhythm.
